![]() ![]() You do not need to block to win fights early in the game, but you do later when enemies get tough, so it is best to simply not block early in the game (if it is a major skill) and let your fighting skill and its attribute grow as fast as it can. Everyone can benefit from having acrobatics as a major skill for a minimum useful jumping ability to get onto certain castle ledges if they can control themselves and not hop, skip, and jump everywhere they go. A fighter who eventually wants to enchant their weapons will benefit from having magic skills as major skills for their starting value. Some skills do not need to be used much by your role play but are beneficial at some higher starting level. You can boost its numbers by purchasing lessons. For those reasons it should always be a minor skill in a leveling game. Armorer is also an endurance bonus skill (as is heavy armor) so you want to put a lot of points into it each level for that bonus (close to ten if possible). You need to repair your weapon often to maintain its damage, at 50 Armorer skill makes your weapon capable of killing ghosts (seen at level 6), and at 75 it adds significant power to your weapon. Notorious skills generally needed while you are building your fighting skill are: Armorer, Heavy and Light Armor, Athletics, Restoration, and Alchemy. you can either put these skill into your minor list where they can be used unlimited for high attribute bonuses, or you can simply not use them in your major skill list until your fighting skill has been mastered. ![]() Any skills that naturally build while you are using your fighting skill will take away from your fighting skill and its attribute bonus, and thus benefit the leveling creatures. This will also result in high bonuses to its attribute. You want one of these to be your fighting skill and you want to focus on using it to stay ahead of the enemy leveling curve and master it as soon as possible for best results. Your specialty +major skills build easiest (with 45% effort). This is why a leveling game benefits from a build with a strategic choice of both major and minor skills. Your major skill set is restricted to ten total points per level so you cannot get many bonus points from major skills. You need to add attribute points, which are bonuses based on the number of points you put into skills each level. Skill increase alone is not enough in a leveling game. You are running up hill in a leveling game. Leveled weapons are not as strong (relatively) as those super weapons available at level 1. ![]() What you can gain with leveling is barely enough (at its maximum) to help you at higher levels. Leveling adds stronger creatures and you do not gain anything automatically from leveling. Here is where a build like yours made up of favorite major skills is best. Power gain in this type of game is 100% skill based. The money system (money is hard to get) is reasonable in this type of game, and there are a few highest strength soul gems around for crafting ultra weapons. The unleveled reward for the main quest is very strong here. Non leveling (with the necessary 2-3 level ups but not advancing enemy ranks at level 4-5) has some very powerful bosses scattered around, and some very powerful weapons. The game can be played two ways: Non leveling and leveling. ![]()
